Was it a model railway Christmas?

Did Santa bring you something for the railway?  My grandaughter (she is almost 2) sent me a Wills kit of a dockside crane!!  Perfect!  And my youngest son - at university, so not that young - sent me some Wills craftsmen kits.  I've never made these before, so that will be an enjoyable challenge.  Oh!  and Santa brought a turntable…. if you have seen my layout thread, you will know the troubles I have had!

Seasons greetings, and an early happy New Year!!

Two DPST swiiches, 2 rolls of solid core copper cable, 22 gauge, and 3 flexible coaxle cables, 5 amp capacity. Guess who will be laying track and wiring shortly? The partridge got roasted.

A renumbered and weathered O1 2-8-0 (nice work Mr eBay seller whoever you are) and some bolster wagons.  My wife and I operate a "buy-it-yourself-and-get-what-you-want" policy.  Its faultless!!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful, prosperous and safe New year.

Same here. No wrapping paper either. This year our local grocers had some nice festive shopping bags decorated with snowflakes and candy canes. Job done!

Ditto and I'm happy to join the old gits corner as the bride and me exchanged the 'silly' little obligatory pressies in poshish carrier bags! I've yet to devour my Terry's Chocolate Orange, but its days are limited!

We too, bought something we wanted as gifts to ourselves and I'd found a second hand Russell's 'Pictorial Record of Great Western Absorbed Engines' for £8.64 on Amazon and a new 30xx ROD on eBay for a tad more. I'm also taking an early birthday pressie in February, when I drive over to the Pendon museum to learn how to weather with an airbrush. The remainder of the birthday unsurprise will be a decent airbrush.

Happy New Year everyone and be safe and snug,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

To 'complete' my mineral train in 7mm, I received the Dapol BR 20T brake vanin grey (unfitted) to go with my Falcon (birthday pressie!) and (hopefully) ever
growing rake of 16T and 21T steel mineral wagons.

Not got it yet,  but a MRC member is letting me have a terrier locomotive at a reasonable price,  which is good because it's going to be backdated in to its prototype Lochgorm tank …

Now I've finally started a model railway…I've inherited another…

Hi Michael. That is the problem with central heating, no chimney for Santa. But I haven’t been very good in 2018 and didn’t merit any presents.  Best wishes Kevin

Kevin as my 92 year old Mother said last week      " So I've upset someone again ? I must still be breathing then !, and at 92 aren't I allowed to p#@$ people off ? "
Not much to say to that is there ?   I've sent you a PM with a suggestion that might help, but all I can say is I admire the fact that at your age you take part, you contribute and you keep trying, I hope I can do the same as my years roll by

Hope you and all  members have a peacefull, healthy, TOLERANT and productive new year  !!

Hi Matt.  92 years? That is a good age. I am only 71 years old/ young? My awkwardness is more down to me tripping over stuff and of course my bad memory.    Best wishes to you and all your family Kevin

It would be nice to be 71 again…

Now back to something for the layout - well some track re-arrangements were done to "improve" operations…
