Apologies for the outage

Well that was unexpected. Just when things were going so well, a server re set of some sort at the host reverted named server settings to the previous Host. Breakage has been on this from earlier today but its only just now been resolved. Changes were put in place this morning Which SHOULD have resolved the issue but a cache flush by the host this evening seems finally to have cleared the blockage, Breakage is now off for a lay down in a dark room and I've booked him in for a hair transplant tomorrow to replace what he's ripped out. Once again apologies
Cheers

Matt

Thanks for the update, Matt - and obviously to Breakage for his time and effort.

The rest of the migration was virtually flawless, so there had to be some issue waiting in the wings.

I am having some issues with it not loading initially but then loading after I refresh it. I have shift + refreshed too to clear the old cache, but it still does it every so often.

Probably clearing the cache might help

Just logged in with Firefox with no problems ( I normally use Opera) so try a fresh search rather than relying on saved bookmarks etc
HTH

Cheers

Incidentally, my earlier comment was not intended as any sort of criticism. I know how these things work and how they can have all sorts of difficult to track glitches.

For the record, I created a new shortcut myself, cleared my cache and so on, but there can also be persistent caches on intermedate servers through ISPs and nodes too.

Given a little more time, hopefully these minor hiccups will disappear of their own accord.

Thanks for the observations Jeff, It all helps to give a bigger picture as to how the site is running. Hopefully as you say, these glitches will sort themselves out as things flush through various servers and devices.
It does seam that Firefox as well as being the best for browsing. Posting on the Forum is also the one that throws up the most issues over logins / security Certificates. I now use Opera on just about all my devices, with Firefox as backup and Chrome in third place. Just my preference. Apart from by accident I've never used Edge.

Cheers

The new Chrome-based Edge is better, but I always avoided it before as being utterly useless!

I have never been much of a fan of Firefox either, as it went through a bad patch after switching from Netscape, many years ago, and I never came back to it.

I'm not a particular fan of Chrome - very inefficient at memory management - but because my school job required Chrome for certain things to work properly, I am still in the habit of using Chrome.

I do like Opera very much, nice and slim and streamlined. Must change back to using it.

Hahaha!

Just another member saying thank you.  It must be an absolute nightmare trying to keep old software running smoothly when everything has changed so much.  My first headship was at a school at the cutting edge of technology (for the time) but my second was in a different decade.  Trying m to move everything to a new website kept me up at night for a year!

For what it's worth, the website is running better for me (I use chrome) than previously, so I am one happy member!

To be fair, the hosting company may well have thought your version was more accurate. I got a little……passionate….about it all.
