OK chaps, for a bit of fun, we thought we'd have one final selection to kick the year off.

Having gone through the selections for the last 12 months only, whilst it was extremely difficult to select just 3 of my favourites, here they are………………..

My favourite layout will come as no surprise to any of you so nor will it surprise you that all 3 are from that layout.

Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to select any 1 from 3 for our New Year header photo:

As it’s your POTM swansong Peter, I’ll ignore the blatant favouritism and autocracy and join in the fun in trying to help you decide your favourite  ;-)

Here goes .  .  . which one to choose .  .  .

.  .  .  the attention to detail transmitted through fine observational modelling,

.  .  .  or perhaps the ‘BIG’ picture illustrating long dedication to the task of creating Granby,

.  .  .  or maybe the honest work ethic of a hardworking workforce?

I’m sure we’ll all be happy with the result  :)

Happy New Year and with a big thank you to everyone on YMRC for making the forum a fun and friendly place to be.

2022 may indeed be different than last year, but be careful, stay safe and smile whenever you can.

Very best,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Number one is a great snapshot that oozes Granby

Number two is deceptively simple but has a Timeless  aged look to it

But its number Three for me for me as well, as it shows the incredible amount of work John has put into the layout
 :cheers

In some ways, #3 reminds me of this

I'm sure I've seen that layout on Trainmasters TV Sol - obviously American but I seem to recall it's a famous layout over there ……. :hmm

Well once again, we had a dead heat (I of course, voted for all 3) but then Marty woke up and tipped the balance in favour of - drum roll please - this one :

Right - I'm on a "proper" device now rather than that stupid Samsung tablet I got with 5 gallons of petrol and 50 Green Shield stamps.  Actually, I think it's because the tablet runs on Chrome and I understand YMR doesn't like Chrome…………………

The  picture I was trying to copy is this one Matt - the winner by a single vote (thanks Marty  :thumbs).

Just a thought - if anyone else has a "favourite" layout and would like to select 3 photos from it for the rest of us to choose from, please say so …………….. :cheers

Now young Peter, you don't half make life hard ! I know you linked the picture, but I've just spent the best part of two hours finding the relavent post in Granby.
Ok, ok I admit I only took five minutes to find it, but spent two hours browsing Granby  :mutley

A very worthy choice  :thumbs

Cheers

Sorry Matt - I forgot to put the link in - just did a copy/paste operation on the grounds that, if you had time for a cuppa (see your "crimp" thread), you'd have time to search Granby for it.   :cool wink :cheers :cheers

I was a bit stunned when I first saw this thread but very flattered.

I thought it best not to join the discussion but now you have made a decision I have to say I wholeheartedly approve!

As an industrial town, Granby should look busy but I do have a tendency to over do it. The picture you have selected shows that, occasionally, I can adhere to the late John Flann's often repeated mantra: "Less is more"

Furthermore, its a reminder of the happy conclusion, last spring, to all my frustrating and expensive struggles with the storage yard turntable. A great way to start the new year.

Thank you so much Peter for initiating it

The general feeling Mike, was that the voting system was not well received by the majority of the members so it was decided that Alan (Spurno) would change it whenever he feels like doing so........ :cheers
