HSRCA Meeting at Eastern Creek Raceway 30/6 & 1/7 2012
Hello all,Here are a few shots of my other hobby, Historic Motorsport. The HSRCA (Historic Sports & Racing Car Association) put on a fantastic weekend, June 30 - July 1 2012. Unfortunately I never had the chance to see all the races as I was selling raffle tickets to raise money for our meeting in November, the Tasman Revival. The winner of the raffle will receive an all expenses paid trip to the Goodwood Revival in 2013. If any members on this site that like historic racing cars and happen to be in Sydney, Australia on November 23 - 24 - 25, come along to the Tasman Revival as you will not be dissapointed.
1971 McLaren M8E Can Am (ex Vic Elford), a seriously quick car in its day and still is. Bruce McLaren was a crafty character, and a exceptionally fine race car driver !
Aussie Muscle, Elfin 360 Repco Brabham.
American muscle. One of Carroll Shelbys' own. Very nice.
Elfin 600B F2 car with a fantastic little Lotus 1600 strapped inside.
…and ofcourse there were the Minis. On some parts of the circuit these little beasties were as quick as the big thumping 550hp V8 Mustangs, Camaros and Ford Falcon GTHOs. For those who don't know of the Falcon GTHO, they were an Aussie built Ford dating from 1972, the fastest family 4 door sedan in the world back then, capable of 140 mph no problem at all !!
Hope you enjoyed these pics,
Cheers, Gary.

Some great photos you have. I have to ask, in the second photo down, is the green car (No.2) a Vanwall ?
Cheers, Gary.

I well remember those I can identify but what's the "VW" car No 70 in your third shot Sven ?
In my youth, a friend owned and ex Innes Ireland Lotus Formula 1 car. He "played" with it on an old wartime airfield owned by my brother-in-law and one fine Sunday afternoon, I was allowed to take it up the main runway - nearly a mile long. Wow !! That was an experience I'll never ever forget. Although the car was probably around 10 years old then, it was frighteningly powerful and very, very quick !!!

I think the car was based of the VW beetle in a class called Formula Vee.
It's must have been a great moment to drive the Lotus F1 car.
I dream every year to visit the Goodwood Revival and all the great air shows and
raiways and all other intresting things in UK but may wallet said no…. but some day
maybe I can do it.:hmm

You'll soon be wearing long trousers ………
I have a friend who also likes "classic" cars - he has an E-Type Jaguar and this one - a vintage Lagonda

The Lagonda is a very nice car and the Jaguar E-type to. It's running some E-types up
here in the summer and the Swedish Jaguar club have some meetings in the summerhalf.
But UK. must be a Mecka for entusiast of cars, railways and airplane and much more.
