The prices for most classics have gone crazy these few recent years. Our old 1950 Citroen is the only one which has stayed resolutely affordable, yet there are so few youngsters getting into the groove these days! Still hankering for something pre-war here, so something will turn up, eventually :)

You had a good day for it Ron, thanks for sharing,

Bill :)

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

They're as rare as hen's teeth Gary.    There were only 53 C Type and 71 D Type Jags built so it would be rare indeed to see anything other than a replica at a "local" classic car show.

I have only seen one of each, at the Phillip Island Classic (Historic Motorsport Event) a few years ago. Beautiful pieces of iron work I must say !

Cheers, Gary.

I had a 1962 Ford Classic from 1993 to 2004, until when I turned 70 I found it was no longer fun crawling under and over it. We used to go to Classic car shows about once every two weeks in the summer, I was "Events Co-ordinator" for the Classic and Capri owners club.

Best shows we attended were the "Wroughton Nostalgia" events near Swindon, started in '93 or '94 with 500 cars and other vehicles, until 2003 when they had over 3,000.

A few pics from those days

Yes, very nice indeed although I actually preferred the XK120 - it seemed to have more "rugged" lines ..................:roll::thumbs

I think the term I would use is "dainty". But to drive one is almost impossible. Steering wheel in your face, no room to move back from it either. But gorgeous to look at.

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not sure.
