The Rosette Nebula

A rare very clear sky last Friday saw me setup my telescope and imaging  kit in my Newark garden. This is the Rosette Nebula which is nearly 5000 light years away and a 100 lights years across!!
30 stacked images of 3 - 6 minutes and finished in Photoshop 3.

Cheers
Ron

That's a great shot Ron.  I wish I knew where all these things were in the sky - to me, it looks like just stars …………..

Peter, unfortunately most of these heavenly bodies are only seen by the camera and are just 'fuzzy blobs' to the naked eye.Have a look at Stellarium, it's a good, free program that gives you a real time sky and shows where everything is??

Thanks
