Pics from my recent 'time out'..

Had a great time relaxing by the lake for the previous 3 1/2 days. Lake Lyell, situated west of Sydney over the Blue Mountains is a lovely spot.

1. Base Camp. Not another person in sight ! :thumbs

2. A view arond the point (?) at sunset…

3. A view towards the camp site and the point. Our camper trailer can be seen on the right, just.

 O

4. A frost on Wednesday morning paved its way for some early photography…

5. Across the glassy water only the slightest ripples were formed by the gentle breeze…

6. From the pier…

7, 8, 9. Wild life around the park…

On our way home, we stopped in at Leuralla, home of the New South Wales Toy and Railway Museum. I'll post up a link to the other photos shortly.

Looks like a very quiet place to spend a couple of nice relaxing days. Is it always that peaceful though?

Always try to look on the bright side of life!

Very nice!!

PS…..my missus likes camping out too…….instead of a 5 star hotel she is sometimes willing to drop down to a 3 star and get away from it all.!!

Ted, It is a lovely spot. The occasional angler walked past to get to there favourite fishing spot, then the occasional family taking a walk around the roads, enjoying the sites.

Barney, At times it's very busy. There are about 100 individually marked out sites and I guarantee by Labour Day weekend (3/4/5th Oct) the place will be packed. This date is also open season for trout fishing… Futher around the point (closer to the jetty), there would have been atleast 30+ occupied camp sites (closest to the amenities), but when SWMBO booked our camp site, she opted for the one furthest away. :thumbs

You could say that timing is everything ! ;-)

Gormo, It isn't that far from Sydney, only about 2 hours. But very well worth it ! The camper trailer we have, I purchased about 2 1/2 years ago for $800. We have now had atleast 18 nights away in it, well worth the money, but it ain't 5 star, it's about 4 !!

Cheers, Gary.
