They're great as painted figures, John - but isn't I.30 pounds each a bit steep for an unpainted figure?  Even a metal one.

I've got a number of Dart Castings figures, Tim and they are quite expensive when compared with Dapol/Airfix and the like.

The plus points are the quality of manufacture and the vast range of different subjects available from them. They are certainly worth a look, even if only used where a specific figure is needed and only Dart does them.

Tim, yes and no! Yes does seem expensive, and no, because finding figures for adapting for line side/ track side use requires a certain amount of ingenuity and time to convert  for use.

Modelling time seems to be at a premium these days, so any shortcuts to achieve a given end are welcome.

Plus makes a welcome change to actually scenically work on a layout, for my sins always seemed to get the, baseboard building, track laying and wiring jobs on various Club layouts that were being exhibited, and most layouts have a very short shelf time, seemed to be continually always moving onto a new layout project to be started from scratch, and never really had time to develop a home based layout, so the YMR project is my" busman's holiday" so to speak!

I like them. They'd be a particularly naughty word or two to paint like that though
In my view some of the figures available through some of the more obscure manufacturers have heads that are too big,[I can't think of the name of one company in particular] or that are perched too upright on the shoulders instead of being slung forward a bit  [Langleys come to mind]
 These look good. [to me,anyway.]
