I've done the driver by cutting off the big rag in his hand and refixing a bit of it in his right hand, and cutting the rest in under his left hand. I've cut down his porters cap to make an earlier motor-lorry drivers 'kepi' and on Farmer Giles I've cut away inside his jacket to make it less thick. I didn't like the wheels on the sack truck so made some more on a wire axle.
I'll repost as I do them. Fiddly business, isn't it!

His trolley? One of life's great mysteries, I had it 2 hours ago, now I can find it. B&m!
It seems to work, putting on a black coat, wiping it off the majority of the model leaving it in all the 'grooves' and them building up thin coats of diluted acrylic on top.
Poop poop,

I like the Airfix/Dapol figures because they are soft and easier to work with.
Those hats are a time consuming nuisance though.
I've even tried a lighted match which works but is a little unpredictable!
My preferred method at present is to use head transplants.

I have solved it! The mystery of the Universe! [Where Porter Pete's luggage trolley went…………..]
I knew I had it, I had stuck little wheels and an axle on it. I had 'detailed' it a bit….but then it disappeared.
I moved the dog's bed from under my workbench, and emptied it out. Searched the floor, even swept it. Emptied the waste paper basket. Moved the computer, printer, tool box etc. Emptied out my scrap-box, just in case…..
I asked Bisto if he had seen it….[desperation setting in…]
This morning I got up, went to put on my dressing gown and there it was, firmly stuck to the underside of the left arm by the trace of the super glue I had used for the axle thingy…..
AAAaaagh!

I'm amazed you even found the luggage trolley, I never would have.
I sure like Porter Pete, you have done a superb job with him.
What is it that you have stuck up in his foot? Looks like a neat little gadget!

Hullo, Wayne,
I drill and superglue a 0.5 mm wire up one leg to fix them down with, and when I'm painting them I sometimes hold them in a pin-vice. A couple of times the copper wire snaps off at the vice jaws so I've started sticking the wire in a bit of sleeving and then holding that in the p'vice.
Cheers, now SWMBO wants me to paint some females….

Won't she get jealous? Still, makes a nice change from painting scale model figures!

Something more formal was needed, and after consulting SWMBO, a grey coat-dress, navy high-neck blouse and black gloves, shoes and bag were ordered. Mrs Pete wasn't too sure about the slit up the back of the dress, but at least she looked smarter than Sally, the snooty signalman's wife, even if it meant having her head twisted round a bit and all sorts of liberties being taken with a wet paint brush! She's looking around a bit anxiously, as she left a casserole in the oven, and hopes Matilda will put in an appearance before it burns……………And anyway, Pete could have been a signalman, but he's got his pigeons, you see…..
Back to reality, I've found that running a little sand-paper block over the head with 120 grit paper leaves a rough surface that looks like 'curls'.
Apology for the picture quality, I don't know what seems to be wrong with my Brownie tonight but it ain't behaving,
Doug
