returning pictures to files

Can anyone please tell me how to return pictures from the slide show found here in inverted commas to their original size back into my files?

At the moment they only upload as thumbnail size. The pictures were reduced in 'paint' from the originals to 25% which is normal for forum use.

Below is an example of how they look at the moment when uploaded from my files after being copied and saved into them.

Hi Allan,

Assuming you are using Firefox:

1. click on the small image with the right-hand mouse button.

2. a menu will appear. Click Open Link in New Window with the usual left mouse button. It's near the top of the menu usually.

3. when the large picture appears in a new window, click on it with the right-hand mouse button.

4. a menu will appear. Click Save Image As… with the usual left mouse button.

5. you can then save it on your computer in the usual way. You will probably want to give it a new file name instead of the long string of numbers.

If you are using Internet Explorer 11, it is all the same as above, except the menu items are not capitalised, and in 4. it is Save picture as…

(If you are using an earlier version of Internet Explorer you should not be – it is not safe and likely to pick up viruses – upgrade to the latest version, or use a different browser.)

If you resized the original camera images on your computer before posting them on here there is no way to get the full-sized originals back. Always make a copy of your camera images before resizing them for use on the web.

The system on here will resize images up to about 3200 pixels wide, so there was probably no need to resize them in Paint first. They do of course take longer to upload in that case. Pictures taken with the latest high-end digital cameras do now tend to be larger than that, so they will need resizing first.

regards,

Martin.

Thanks Martin, I shall give it a try later but right now I'm trying to get over having 20 stones removed from my bladder and it's giving me real gip just to sit at the computer.

They were removed in surgery on tuesday and I'm back in next week to have tubes and stuff removed then in three months time they're gonna hack lumps out of my prostate gland - whatever that is - and why they should be so keen to do so is beyond me !

But some of those nurses, wow ! - seems to make it all worth while !

Anyway, thanks again Martin.

Allan
