LMS horse box
The Smithy Road sale has been on for a while now and been discussed before and I did finally order a couple of items a while back and put them straight into storage. The above mentioned horse box was ordered as I want some stock from the 'other' railway companies on the layout, as in real life and got the LMS van brand spanking new for a modest 8 or £9. Anyway, I just opened it and it really is a little gem. Fully modelled brake and other underframe detail (well pretty much), metal buffers and separate wire grab and handrails.
I'm now looking at Hornby in a new light, as this and the little Pecket I picked up recently are fine models indeed and represent excellent value for money.
Long may it continue and hats off to Hattons.
Bill
At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

I've always liked their premium coaches but considered their commercial rolling stock to be a little "toy-like" with brash colours and thick plastic mouldings.
I also wonder what's happened between Hattons and Bachmann. I haven't read anything regarding an upset but note that their regular lists no longer contain any of Bachmann's "new releases"- just Hornby and Heljan plus, of course, Hattons "in house" offerings. On the other hand, maybe there aren't any !!
Perhaps I should re-visit Hornby ………………….. :hmm

The stoppage ocurred just after the start of "The sale of the century" but also after they started selling their exclusive models to other retailers
According to Andy Y on RMweb both sides are talking in an attempt to resolve the issue…..but that was some weeks ago. The topic remains locked on RMWeb
