Crowd Funding ???

Hi All.   Crowd funding seems to work. Could this work for Hornby??? Or would that not suit their business ethos. It is unlikely to suit lots of investors who buy and preserve as new, to sell on a well known auction site, later at a
Huge profit.   All the best   Kevin

Not sure if crowd funding would be the way to support a business who got into trouble because of bad business practices.

Hi Kevin,

Is Hornby a worthy cause? Their current business model has very little to do with keeping railway modelers happy.

Hi Ron. Thank you for your reply. I don't know anything about business , or what state any company are in?But, Kernow tried it with the DJM Southern Electric Loco which was very popular . But at least it would give an indication on what's popular and what's not, i.e. The Peckett was, whether any future Locos are so popular or no
I couldn't say.    All the best. Kevin

Hi Nigel.  Thank you for your reply. That is a very good question. What may or not happen if we were to wake up oneMorning and read of such an event? It wouldn't be the first time that a company has been in such a predicament. Bachmann could be smiling? or not. There would be a panic created by the vacuum, production targets etc
All the best. Kevin

Whatever the future holds for Hornby, leaving only Bachmann as a big player in the UK outline model world would be a very bad situation to find ourselves in.

IMHO, disregarding their recent bad marketing decisions, Hornby went on the aquisition trail far too earnestly and at an appalling time.  But nobody knew that at the time ……………………………. :???:

Hi Petermac   Thank you for your reply .  That looks a fair assessment of a likely scenario to me. And it couldn't come at a worse time with Brexit looming on the horizon either.    All the best. Kevin
