Blue and grey coaches

Hi

Can somebody please tell me what mo2A coaches would go best with mk1 coaches with ribbed roofs.  I ask this as there has now been three releases of the Bachmann ml2A coaches with problems with the grey not being under the door stops to shades of blue.  I am after ml2A to go with ml1 with correct shades and best paint application

Thanks

It really depends what theme and time period you are modelling but if you just want some Mk2 coaches to run with Mk1 in a generic train then there should be no problem mixing Mk2 and Mk2a with Mk1.

Paint shades isn't something I worry about.  Bachmann shades are reasonably consistent, BR Southern green excepted, and I happily run mixed rakes of Mk1 and Mk2 coaches at times.  It would be perfectly normal on the real thing to find coaches which looked slightly different anyway just because of the effects of light, dirt and ageing.

If you can avoid the branded InterCity coaches you leave yourself with more scope as those were, officially at least, supposed to be used on the major InterCity routes.  Unbranded coaches could be found on the less prestigious runs and eventually were found on local stopping trains formed of loco-hauled stock.

Thank you

It was the shades I wanted the same as I have been told that mk2A from 2006 were lighter blue that the 2011 release.  These also had
the grey to high and through the door stops which I also do not want

Thanks
