Has anyone got one of these EMU ‘s
Hi all. I have been thinking about the purchase of one of these units for a while. Preferably already carrying a DCC decoder to save me the trouble. This in no way a criticism. Best wishes Kevin

I could have a plain green one. However visually they are closely similar to the 2-EPB units of which I have a full complement already. I simply don't have space to take one of everything I might like but which may seldom if ever get a run.
To my mind they are superb models which fully uphold Bachmann's standards of recent years and which expands the ready-to-run Southern Region portfolio of multiple units. But they are over-priced in common with other recent Bachmann releases and announcements.
To each their own. I would probably relent if my first choice of livery was offered at the current price. If it comes out a year or two from now with an even higher price-tag then no.
Anyone interested in SR modelling is invited to browse the Southern Electric Group's pages largely compiled and with impartial reviews written by their Modelling Officer, Colin Duff Modelling – Southern Electric Group

For the 2-BIL and 2-HAL - either Lenz Standard+ or Zimo MX600R. I have the Lenz in my examples: in the 2-BIL the decoder socket is at the inner end of the motor coach and the decoder sits in the roof space. The 2-HAL socket is at the driving end and the decoder is fitted underneath the seating where there is a recess for it. And whilst you have the body off for both of these, snip out the capacitor next to the motor bogie.Hi Rick. Being a southern fan, I was a member of that group, but, it was too heavy for me. I had great plans for building a model Railway and rushed out and purchased all the Southern Units that I could get hold of.I do prefer the green range myself, but, had to go for the blue 2EPB, I have also got the 2BIL and 2 HAL. Which I am still trying to decide which would be the best DCC Decoder to fit. Has anyone done a.2NOL. Best wishes Kevin
The Bachmann 2-EPB and 2-HAP have 21-pin sockets and it's the Zimo MZ638D that is the best. The Zimo decoders are £20 each and the Lenz around £18. Don't bother trying to remove the caps with these - it's major surgery (ie full dismantle and reassemble)!
