At last.

To save making the original thread even longer, I'm glad to say that the loco arrived back here today with a new tender. I originally ordered it on 22nd of September 21 and it was posted the next day. Since then it's been back and forth between Australia and Sheffield no less then three times. Don't you hate it when you ask people to check something properly and they don't do it!!

Anyway, it's on the track and sounding pretty good with Paul Chetters sound. A few adjustments to make, CV146 being one as there's quite a lot of backlash in the gear train. Chuff rate and a few others, but she does run nice and smooth.

All's well that ends well Pete and the loco has probably done a higher mileage than the original did !!

Maybe finally, hats off to Rails for sorting it out …………….

Paul Chetter's sound projects are indeed, superb.  I have a few of them myself.  :thumbs

Hi Peter,
All's well that end's well is OK. I just wish they'd taken notice of my request to thoroughly test same before sending it back. I swapped the tyred wheels for plain untyred drivers and it still pulls six MK1 carriages around my layout with not much trouble. In short, I'm very pleased with it's performance, not to mention the sounds. As well as for looks: I think it's really nice.

Cheers Pete.
