Anybody tried a Train Tech PC1 single point controller ?

I've read elsewhere that the PC2 quad point controller doesn't always have enough power to activate Peco PL-10s, (number or size of capacitors?) but I will have one point all by itself on one of my baseboards and it would make more sense just to have a single accessory decoder on that board.

Since the PC1 has just the one capacitor for the one point would it be ok, or anyone any suggestions for a alternative.

Hi Ed,

I have two PC2s on my N gauge layout which operate a total of 7 points. Yes, they are a bit slower to activate compared to ordinary points with toggle switches and don't really have enough power to operate PL-10s with accessory switches which can be a pain. But they are useful if like me, don't have the space for a panel and switches in this particular area. As far as PC1s are concerned, I don't have any (sorry for not being too relevant to your question  :???:) but with one point, I would give the PC1 a go.
Are you operating all your points with accessory decoders?

Hi Conner, thanks for replying.

All the point on my new layout will be DCC controlled, but one is on a separate baseboard from all the rest and I'm trying to avoid having it on a different board to it's accessory decoder.

Looked around the web and can find no reviews of the PC1 (good or bad), so going by 'no news is good news' think the only answer is to try one.

Hi Ed,

That sounds like a plan. Good luck with it.
