Using Powercab short circuit alert
Hi All. First attempt to DCC Hornby 2HAL, This is nothing that I have seen before. I put my Hornby 2 Hal on the track, plugged in the Powercab pressed the Programme button four times. Next instruction in the display read Short Circuit, maybe I have plugged it in the wrong way round ??? Nope same as. Disconnect and turn to YMRC for help. Best wishes Kevin

If in doubt, use DC to see if it drives.

To fix direction, two methods
1. reverse the wiring to the motor itself… needs soldering skills or
2. as Barchester indicated . alter CV29 ( or if using NCE - the English words as described in the Powercab manual - Direction bit )

Hi Ron . Thank you for your reply, that all sounds complicated to me, but, I will give it a go. Best wishes Kevin
It's not that complicated with the Power Cab, Kevin. Once set on the programming track (prog/esc + 4, choose 2. CV programming, read CV 29, and if it is an even number (most likely), add 1 to that value and press enter.
If it is an odd number, subtract 1.
The first alternative is better, that is to remove the body and turn the decoder around 180 degrees and plug it in again. The main complication there is the physical difficulty in removing the body.
