Bachmann resistor problem

Hello all. I have a technical issue I hope somebody may be able to help with:

I have wired my Bachmann Class 66's to have independent directional lighting. I first upgraded the lights using the Illuminated Models kits then wired them all independently to the aux outputs on the Loksound 5 decoder. They all work independently but not altogether, so if I switch the tail lights on for example, the headlights go off.

By playing around in LokProgrammer I have discovered that by altering the brightness's of each light I can get them to work mostly. I assume this must be down to the positive feed being routed through the PCB and its associated resistors etc. I have tried directly connecting the positive feed to the common positive pin on the 21 pin socket but this did not work.

If anyone out there knows how to connect to an alternative positive supply or any other way round this I would be very grateful to hear from you.

Cheers & happy modelling to all

When I wired a Bachmann class 20 some years ago, I just wired the positive feed and a couple of the auxiliary outputs directly to the bases of the decoder pins (with a suitable separate resistor for each light). They all worked perfectly straight off. I don't see why you can't get them working when directly wired to the pins.

The only other thought I have is as you jhave access to a LokProgrammer there may be a conditional part of the function operation in the decoder programming. Have you tried resetting the decoder and starting from scratch with its programming?
