Powercab wall plug to PCP

Hi All.   I have raised this topic before, but, I have only recently found the definitive answer . I had been asking about the “ Adaptor” fitted between the wallplug cable and the PCP, but no one knew what I meant, then it struck me,“A picture paints a thousand words”, so I went to my trusty iPad and took a picture. Which I emailed to the supplier of my Powercab , the reply was “Startling” to say the least, “ The first UK spec Powercabs were supplied with this arrangement but the later ones came with a direct fit PSU without the need for a Jackplug adaptor . Earlier  Powercabs had the US 2 pin PSU that needed the wall socket travel adaptor. So does that mean my “ New Powercab “ is actually Preowned ? Now my mission is to troll around “Electronics Suppliers” and see what they can come up with, wishing to avoid the likes of “eBay “ and “ Amazon” . Alternatively? I could purchase a new wall plug with the direct fit , and even “ cobble together “ the lead to do the job? I would like to include the said picture, but I still have not been able to.   Best wishes. Kevin

You have lost me Kevin. My Powercab, at least 7 years old was powered as per the manual

now what are you trying to so?  If you want to be able to extend your Powercab onto another board, you could purchase another PCP
https://www.dccsupplies.com/item-p-100882/nce-power-cab-power-panel-pcp-524222.htm
and unplug power from one PCP & plug it into the other

and if the mains power cord is not long enough, get a 240v extension cord like this

Hi Ron.  Thank you for your reply. As per the photo, that that you corrected for me, I share my Powercab “ At different times between two planks “ , each plank has its own PCP. For the wall plug connection ,I will email the photo of my “ Wall plug which I purchased“ post 2015” when I came back to Model Railways . It isn’t as complicated as it sounds. Best wishes.  Kevin

Hi Ron.   This is more info. Since  my last message, I took a PCP to an electronics supply company, showed them the PCP told them what I wanted, hey presto. They sold me the two sockets that I need,  next, wire them up, should be straight forward, one end to the PCP, one end to the Jack Plug. Twin cable but will 5amp be okay?Best wishes Kevin

I am still lost why you need another adaptor ?   You shift the Power cab from one PCP to the other, so unplug the power supply from one PCP & plug it into the other - how hard is that ?

Hi Ron.  Thank you . The extra sockets fitted to the extra cable, are just for convenience sake. The toolbox case for the “Shunting Puzzle “ has two sides, the visible layout on top side, and the electrics underside. Rather than faff around trapping the wires, in the lid, from the PCP they are fed up through that “ gaping hole “ in the baseboard .Best wishes Kevin

Hi Ron.   And it works, I have soldered the two new ends on the “Jumper “ ( not a cardigan;-) ) and plugged it into the PCP. With the other end plugged into the “ Wall Wart “ cable. And away we go . Best wishes. Kevin
