Lost sounds

Hi all.

I've put this on another forum and pasted and copied it here hoping to get some quick help if possible.

Any help appreciated.

First of all a friend of mine bought a Loksound V3.5 with class 108  sounds from Trains on Time, who I believe are now defunct. Anyway, I had  it connected to my Sprog2 via Decoder Pro and did nothing more than  "read all sheets." It worked ok before this. Afterwards however, F1 no  longer does anything… no driving sounds. A couple of sounds do work  ie; horn and doors closing, but no whistle, flange squeal, etc, and this  is while the dmu is standing.

If his memory serves him well and he did get it from ToT, does anyone know who did the sound files for them ?

This  is only the second ESU decoder I've had anything to do with and I've  now sworn to never touch another one. Absolutely no trouble with Zimo  sound decoders, what can be happening I wonder.

Cheers Pete.

I'm in Adelaide.  If you post it to me, I'll sort it on my Lokprogrammer.

Max.

What I forgot to ask was, does it matter that you don't know who did the sound file for this decoder in the first place ?

If it's from a supplier who's gone out of business, it's a bit academic.

I can open the decoder in the Programmer and see what has gone awry.

The Sound Project should still be in there.  It's probably just a matter of finding what's blocking it.

If the Sound Project has been deleted, I can make another bespoke one.  Who knows, it might be better.

I will stay in contact before I make any changes.

Thanks Max. I'll save it this time. My excuse is that I've changed computers.

Trains on Time mostly sold South West Digital sound decoders (LokSound). SWD are still very much in business.

If the Sound Project is stuffed, he can choose whether to send it to SWD or get me to make one, Jeff.

It might be nothing.  I'm not a big fan of Decoder Pro.  More computing for hippies.

I've got a jaundiced view of open source software since I've dabbled with linux.

Me and me mate are having our doubts about decoder pro as well. Is there an alternative to use with the Sprog 2 ?

Would you let us know by pm what sort of charge it would be to fix that decoder up please max.
