Being in the market for a traveling crane for the Maintenance Workshops, I happened across this little beauty.

The raised track and the track on the ground are some 19 1/2 inches in length.

Now haveing been in the modelling world for quiet some time I have found that TAMIYA are the ants pants when it comes to plastic model kits, (My personal view anyway) well that's until I started to build this kit.

The amount of sprue is minimal, the quality of the moldings are fantastic, the detail is incredible. The parts although very fine, fit together so well you hardly use any glue at all.

County of Origin says it all….

If this is any indication of the quality of kits etc this company produces, they certainly have a fan in me…..

I would very highly recommended this indeed.

Well worth the effort.

Intersting looking kit. Is the length of rail (on the ground) that the crane travels on included in the kit? Also, is it expensive?

Hi,

I would be grateful if you could post a few photo's of the finished product. Maybe a couple of overall shots and some details of the main elements if possible. It looks like a nice kit.

Cheers

Your wish is my command Sir.

There are 6 individual Track and Rail sections. (Rail sections are still attached to the sprue)

Gantry is 3 1/2 inches tall

Covers a width of 8 inches

By using all the 6 track and rail sections you can get a max length of 23 inches. I will only be using 4 sections, well maybe….

Support piers come in two different profiles, one you use for the sections that are supported by the wall of a building and the other when its free standing. If you have a look at the original picture of the Box Lid I posted, you can see the 3 support piers on the left are free standing and the remaining ones are butted up against the wall of the building.

Hi,

Many thanks for posting the additional photo's. It looks like a very well made kit. The colour of the beams are convincing as well. It does not look too plasticky as some kits do.

Thanks again.
