Like a lot of you I imagine, I have an inkjet printer. I wanted to print off a couple of Scalescenes kits, so called up the files to do a test print first of all. Had no bother in the past so expected no problems. Disaster struck. It came out with a purple hue! Changed cartridges genuine HP for my printer, cleaned them, aligned them, everything. No luck. So I thought I'd try this laser print malarkey. Loaded the files onto a USB stick and went to my local Staples. Told the girl what was required, she did a test page, perfect. Now got 2 of each kit for Pots Lane and less than £15.00 the lot. I will be getting a laser printer soon myself I think.  I'd be able offer to print the kits for my local club as well.

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not sure.

I can strongly recommend the OKI range, they can print to light card (up to 220gsm) and also print to banner paper up to 1320mm long (over 4') which is great for backscenes - less joins!

I got mine here,

the 511 "opened box" should be a good buy; I bought an "open box" C531 last year, as it was a bit smaller and lighter than the 8 year old one I had, which has gone to one of the local area group members. I use clone toner refills, no problems, not like ink jets blocking up! Amazon often have them at good prices.

Why didn't you just alter the hue on the printer?

Try ensuring that your printer, computer monitor and for future use …… Your camera are all set to the same colour profiles. I
F you do this then what ever you print off will look exactly as you see on the screen with no hues at all.

I learned this in photography which is why I mentioned the camera as whatever colours you shoot with the camera will be viewed the same on your monitor and will print the same through your printer.

Look up ICC international colour profiles.

It may help. Your old printer maybe absolutely fine as it is. Just needs setting properly. I have a book on it. If I can find it, I'll post up the details.

Cheers
