Small road/rail Overbridges in 00

  HI Guys
Since I am reasonably new to the forum I have been catching up on lots of different posts on a huge variety of subjects. Since my area of interest is tramway I concentrate on scenic posts and the trams threads.

However there is a degree of overlap in that railways brought passengers for the trams and trams carried people to the stations. There are many points of contact between trains and trams. It may be the street scene with the railway running behind the houses or the trams serving a station frontage.
One item I found that I needed was the ubiquitous city “over the roadway” bridge. A short bridge to keep the trains and trams from interfering with each others right of way. Motor vehicles were generously allowed to use the same right of way as the trams and so the arrangement was quite satisfactory. Until I came to build a layout.
Finding a suitable bridge proved to be a non starter so I decided to build my own, from scratch and in card. I ended up with two bridges, a plate steel bridge, as seen below, on my test bed layout (Provenmill) and a “bowstring” plate steel girder bridge on “Glebe Street” the layout I am currently building.

The result was two kits which may fit in with your plans so if anyone would like the .PDF files for either of these bridges drop me a line as I need an email address to send the files to because the board on the forum is not set up for handling this kind of file.

If you do use one of them please post a pic on the forum.

  Regards
  Jim

Because, except in some unfortunate circumstances, trains did not run on town centre streets
