This months model Rail dropped through the door this morning

In the news section there is a article over half a page on the show in September with a piccy of Franks layout and as small piccy of Jims tamper.

Also there is a 4 page article on Mikes Ashwood Basin A super O gauge layout

I've been in contact with Model Rail (although Ben Jones is not in today and will ring me tomorrow). They confirm that our advert was received and were surprised that it was not in the magazine :exclam:exclam :roll::roll:

As we speak, someone is scurrying around to find out how such a cock-up happened. Not much consolation as far as the ad is concerned, but at least a relief to have confirmation that it was not our fault.

Now the hard conversation need to be had with Model Rail as to what we get in exchange. The advert was part of our deal with them to be advertised as one of our sponsors, so we'll see what they have to offer. Ben Jones will not have an easy conversation with me when I get hold of him :exclam:twisted::twisted::twisted:

Looking at the magazine, it's a relief to see that there is a show preview in the news section, so there will be coverage of the show. I'm just disappointed with the magazine that they have let us down on our plans to show readers what a worthwhile show we are staging. A full page ad was part of that image.

Well bless my cotton socks Ashwood Basin is in print (its only taken two years since it was submitted) and I still haven't seen it yet, I hope it's OK, I wait with some trepidation as to what comments it will get.

I noticed that Chris. I have to say the details of our exhibition in the diary section of the same mag  really are the business .  I have a feeling it will equal,if not surpass the east of England festival at Peterborough. Which i m h o is better than Warley.I dont go to Warley any more fed up with being bashed with rucksacks and eating a snack from a bendy card plate while sitting on the floor.  Judging by the content in the modeller the Kernow Y M R show is going to be a a top event in the railway calender. I have to say a big thank you and well done to all who have worked so hard  so far to make it so.

I got my copy from the newsagents today.
An excellent article Mike, some good pictures from Craig as well. They really do the layout justice.

I picked up the latest issue of Hornby magazine from WH Smith today (first day out).

What a cracker :exclam:exclam A mention in the diary section, a half page show preview and our full page advert properly inserted (hang your heads in shame Model Rail).

Had a weird turn whilst reading Mike Wild's preview though, it seems that the show has been organised and staged by Kernow Model rail Centre :exclam:exclam No mention about YMR. :Red Card:Red Card:Red Card That's not what I sent him  –  honest.

I just wonder when I'm getting my wages from KMRC for the hours I've put in on "their show" (as well as Alan, Brian, et al.) Chris, that's 1,055 hours @  ….. :shock::shock:

Thank the good lord I specified what went in the ad. and had full control over the contents. At least that's accurate :exclam:exclam

Jeff

Well that obviously exempts you from all responsibility for doing any work at the show so just put on a red tee shirt , tell everyone your name is Chris and that anyone who goes to a certain modelshop up the road is entitled to a 50% discount on any purchases for the duration of the show.

That will teach him to say who is YMR !!!!!!!!!!!         :mutley:mutley:mutley:pedal:pedal:pedal:pedal

Jeff, I would think that at the Show, you front up to Mike Wild & correct him  but then that may not be necessary - it all depends on the words Bob uses when he opens the Show.

Richard, if your red-shirt idea takes off with KMRC, do you think if I sent a photo of myelf in a red t-shirt with an order, I too would get that discount?

Worth a try Sol.! :thumbs

Perhaps its a good job I am not being allowed to travel to the show - I think I may have just got myself barred from admission if not liable for deportation from Cornwall .
