Delivery Times

Hi I wonder if any of the members living in Australia have the same problems as I have with Model Rail. Febuary's issue 165 on sale in UK 29th December arrived this Friday 3rd February. It seems that most times I wait between 3 and 4 weeks for the magazine to arrive ,is it just me.I have no trouble with the Hornby Magazine which usually arrives within 10 days. Contacting BauerMedia seems a waste of time. regards Greenfingers

I cannot help you as I get no magazines at all now but I do know Hornby magazine was good when I did get it a year ago.

Like Sol, I don't take any magazines here in France now - postage costs killed it.

However, when I did get them, they usually arrived within a few days of publication.  Maybe they send Model Rail by surface post ……

It really shouldn't take that long to get "down under" - it's only a 24 hour flight so perhaps they're trying to save money using a cheaper delivery system.  Given the weight of magazines, they could soon fill an aircraft with them and I doubt the cost you pay would pay for the flight.

Greenfingers, I wait that long for all of the UK mags as they come surface mail to G&G. Note that they charge effectively airmail rates for the mags though, well not quite but just enough that one wonders whether to get it direct from the UK.
I do note that Model rail can be got from the UK at a good rate direct.

Like Greenfingers, mine only arrived on Friday.

I phoned the subscriptions department to renew mine anyway and, while I had them on the line, mentioned that it was late. I also pointed out that, in fact, the November and December MR issues had also been distinctly late arriving here. The nice lady at the other end said she would pass that on to see if anything could be done.

I would suggest that anyone else with the same problem should also contact Bauer Magazines and report it, so that they will get the message that something is not quite right.
