drawing of baseboards for my layout

Hi all just to show a plan of my baseboards.

Built with softwood frames and 9mm ply tops.

Now planning on adding cork to the boards plus building copperclad turnouts for the railway.

Will show the final track plan when I get it together.

regards,

Derek

Many thanks Gary and Mike.
My brother is swanning around France for a month and has the camera.
When he returns, I shall claim it and get some photo,s of the build and progress.
Now I must get on with ordering that cork.

Derek

Thanks Alan,
Its a good size and should give me room for a decent station with goods yard and loco depot.
I am busy building the turnouts at the moment which will take me a few weeks.

With that space to work with Derek, there won't be too many limitations on what you can run……………:shock:

Are you going to show us some of these copperclad points ?  Hand built track and pointwork always looks so much better than the bought stuff although I believe there's a fair bit of skill required.

Hi John B.
Its good to be back in the swing of things railway.
Also great to get a post from you.
How are you these days?

Hi Peter,
Its a good long run for loco,s plus I can still extend the boards further when I need too.

Regarding photo,s I will show them when my brother gets back from his trip to France early next month with the camera.
Those copperclad jobs are fairly easy to build after one gets over the trial and error period.
Just finished a long curved turnout which was more tricky than the straight turnout jobs.
Of course slips and crossings are a whole different ballgame.
Also I am awaiting delivery of a magnify job which you attach to your glasses so I can see what the heck I am doing. Getting code 75 bullhead rail the right way up to solder is a pain when its hard to see things that small.

regards,

Derek
