Wagon weathering by hand

Hi All.  I am sorry if this question has been asked before. But, every time I have read about Weathering most Modellers seem to be using a spray gun. Is it it possible for a newbie to do a passable job by hand. And what is the best way to start.  Best wishes Kevin

Hello Kevin.  You don't necessarily need an airbrush.  Excellent results can be obtained with paint and brush, a spray can or weathering powders.  What are you hoping to weather?  Rolling stock or buildings?
