However the rust is far too red/orange for my tastes (it may be the colour or light rendition on the photos) for me a dark brown for old rust works far better with a slightly lighter brown for newer rust.

Better than my first efforts though, well done.
It is a big step to alter the state of a pristine wagon but once started you can't stop!

That would be excellent if you could. Also what medium you are using to get those great effects would be helpful as well. We are all still learning.Possible that the photo is not the best for the 16t wagon but it might be a bit too orange.Next time I do some weathering I will take some step by step photos.
