I was watching Bargain Hunt the other night and Tim visited a tram museum.  I didn't catch where it was, but it was supposed to be the largest tram museum in Great Britain.

I'm guessing that you will know where it is, David.

Just for the record. The conversation with the chap from Bacup was on a different forum: Paper Modelers which if you are in to card modelling is worth checking out.

The big tram museum in the UK is Crich which I have not been to recently. Beamish Outdoor Museum has a few trams, the great thing is they are always running arund a long loop track. Yet to visit the Manchester and I think Wirral museums where trams also run.

I also get a e-magazine called the Railway Herald and I do like the fact that in Australia there is a Garrat now running. Also four trains racing side by side. Cannot see them letting that happen on the UK main line!!

Just a note to say I've had a quick look at the website. Looks Good :thumbs.
I can't put a model up yet as I'm not satisfied with the results so far but I'm getting closer. I now have a rolling all card (wheels, suspension, and mounting) truck but still looking for a suitable motor etc.

Well I have dug out the Cameo card cutter after a 'holiday' of well over six months and have produced 4 freelance bodies as the getting back into it learning curve. Tram bodies as I have acquired 5 ex Jouef Bo-Bo chassis used originally for diesel locos that should make good chassis for trams. All I have to do is hide the wheels. The French seem to like big wheels on their diesel locos.

I have just about cracked using .svg files from Drawplus 8. Scaling and text need sorting but it beats having to line up a vector and pixel drawing.

Must check it out via inkscape.

Correct as Meccano tram plans already exist.

I visited my local model railway store and they also sell Meccano bits and pieces. Frizinghall in Bradford, now off canal road on the industrial estate turn off by the big motorcycle dealer. They sell all those instructions, very nice but quite expensive. As they had what I wanted for the railway though i did not leave empty handed.

Note that that they are closed on Wednesday. Also the motorcycle showroom nearby is worth a look, if only to wonder how so many bikes have so low mileages. Genuine by the way, it is a reputable dealer.
