If I may, I'd recommend the following tips if you are finishing with Humbrol enamels as I found the GW cream would not cover the brown material of the model. The GW chocolate, naturally, covered the brown easily.
Undercoat both tilts, the side and end boards and the cab sides with white/light grey before starting construction
Undercoat the whole of each wheel with thinned acrylic varnish before painting the hubs and inner rims silver, as the inside of the moulding is rough enough to give a poor finish.
It describes the hand-brake lever as 'delicate' and advises caution when cutting it from the sprue. I believe this instruction should include an hyperbolic expletive before the word 'delicate'.
Finally, the radiator shell is shown as silver on the box lid, and on the picture I found on the web, but the Thornycroft lorry I saw at the Basingstoke Milestones Museum had a brass radiator.
It wasn't to difficult to do, about the same as a Coopercraft box-van, I used MEK as adhesive.
