I get this message more often than not. Just wondering if others have this problem.

I do.
The problem often occurs in the morning, Australian time. Probably too many users are still up in Europe. Gets better after they go to bed!

I believe, as Claus says, it's just when the server is busy.
I've found sometimes just refreshing the page reconnects.

I get the "Bailing Out" message around nine times out of ten when attempting to visit the site. Aside from reading what others have to say it also prevents me from showing my own work. I understand it's a server-related issue but it shouldn't come up 9/10 times. Should it. It doesn't clear when I refresh and it's the same on the iPhone and Mac desktop so unlikely to be in any way device related or my software.
Anyone got a solution?

Breaker of Things

So yeah - as you've noticed we are having some issues. I've been speaking to the hosting company and it seems it boils down to the sheer number of files we are hosting. This is largely due to carrying the entirety of the gallery from the old site over to the new site.
I'm looking at how i can reduce the file count - i did some trimming today and that seems to have eased things a bit but it's going to need some more work - I need to trim approx 50 thousand files form the server.
Signatures? Where we're going we don't need no stinking signatures!

Thank you for your work.
As Gwiwer writes, it is a petty we can't post our latest progress (or lack of). Fortunately it is better now!

Is there anything we can help with to ease your load ? Whilst writing, I must remind you I'm a total dummy when it comes to anything behind the screen ………………………..
Also whilst writing - is Dad OK ? We haven't heard from him for what seems an age and his jigsaw is sorely missed by at least a couple of us …………………..

I'm still breathing Peter and almost upright !! Sorry about last weeks Jigsaw, could'nt get in at all last weekend (from sometime on Friday evening onwards) so gave up.
Peter, Rick, Peter and others, Yes the Forum is having issues due to the shear size.
A couple of quick points :-
1) breakage gives his time voluntarily ( and for the occasional Beer, although last time I'm sure HE bought them
) His life is VERY busy atmo so please be patient if it takes a while to respond and look into the Issues. I Know no one IS chasing, but I'm just saying !
2) can we up the level of Hosting ? Well at the moment Breakage covers the cost of our Hosting via HIS Hosting package, we are pretty much maxing out his space but to upgrade to a higher level would be quite expensive and at the level of participation we are at, No way. I cover the cost of the two website domains (.com and .net) and the annual security certificates, happy to do so at the moment while I can afford it.
3) The main problem is that we are too big ( physical size of the database and number of files) That's the bottom line. Idealy we need to go on a diet ! I think breakage is looking to see if he can slim down some things in the back end but it's not as easy as just deleting stuff as a lot of historical content is linked in different ways throughout the forum and deleting some obscure post burried deep in an old thread then breaks any links TO that post in any other thread. This is something I think we are just going to have to live with going forward. The main problem at the moment is time, both myself and Breakage have a lot going on outside of forum life for at least the next few months so time available to spend here is limited. I'll start a side topic in the snagging list called Dietry requirements, feel free to post in it if you find an area that you think could go (A link would be helpful) without trashing half the forum content and when time permits I'll take a look.
Apologies for the ongoing issues
( lets see if I the site will be nice and let me do a Jigsaw
Cheers
Matt
Wasnie me, a big boy did it and ran away
