Based on Prototype
Hi All. I have been faffing around with Shunting Puzzles for quite a while now. Even though I have read that it was based in a little used location and the “ third siding was the passenger train line “ . I cannot remember the location, and how it would fit in with the timetable and if once the line is clear for the passenger trains, as rare as they were, was there any catch or trap points in the sidings to protect the passenger trains? Best wishes Kevin

Given the frequency of traffic catch points were unlikely, the sidings were probably 6-12" or so lower than the main.
Wymann has some real life inglenooks with photos.
