Is this normal?

I have just installed a Dapol 4mm scale SR Home signal.  When the arm moves it is accompanied by a loud screeching noise.  Presumably the motor should make some noise but this is  ridiculously distracting. Has anyone else experienced this with Dapol signals and does the noise reduce with use?

It sounds a bit unwell to me.  I would consider sending it back for a replacement before it stops working.

You’ll have to post a video.. mine were pretty noisy when I first got them, but are quieter now (or I’ve got used to them)

Problem solved.  I slightly slackened off the plastic nut beneath the baseboard which holds the unit in place, resulting in a reduction in noise.  Why this should have any effect I haven't a clue.
