experimenting with filler
Hi all.Has anyone had a go with this light-weight filler? Various brands around, this one just happened to be at my local builders merchant.

I've started a new layout in 16.5, and being 7mm weight is obviously going to be a factor. Normally I clad my buildings in Das clay, and impress stone shapes into it. Heavy!
As an experiment, this time I gave the carcass its usual PVA coat, then covered it with a 2-3mm layer of this filler. When it had dried I scribed the stonework very easily with a dental pick (same as scribing foam-board).
Here are the results:

Its only had a thin wash of black acrylic, and a quick coat of matt acrylic varnish to seal - but definite possibilities!
I don't think it would work for smaller scales though

Good stuff to experiment with, and good for landscape in-fill, especially if you are 'glooping' over it.
Remains to be seen what else can be done.
