Fishing village number two.
This will be two fishing village scenes in a row and what you see here is about a week in and smokin' !Allan.

I presume mainly plasticard but how did you do those stone roof tiles ? Also, I love the worn steps - are they covered with something or just very well painted - or maybe even, your old favourite - fireclay ?
I just wonder if the pink awning is another example of the 20th century creeping in ……………..

We've come to expect stunning work from you Allan and this doesn't let the side down.
I presume mainly plasticard but how did you do those stone roof tiles ? Also, I love the worn steps - are they covered with something or just very well painted - or maybe even, your old favourite - fireclay ?
I just wonder if the pink awning is another example of the 20th century creeping in ……………..hmm - I'm a traditionalist……
The stone steps are made out of Evergreen 250thou square plastic section, filed and hacked to look worn then coloured with Colron English Light Oak Wood Dye then talc stippled into the dye whilst still wet which gives a 'stoney' texture.
All substructures are 2mm card then, in this instance, clad with Wills SSMP200 Stone Cladding sheets. These sheets are designated for the 4mm scale but look better in O gauge !
I can dig out a step-by-step on stone colouring from my files if anyone should be interested.

You have a true eye for detail and I admit having to double take a couple of the finished images to convince myself they are models.
Stunning work and keep inspiring.
