Hi Matt,
The waterfall is a piece of glad wrap, I needed a quick result and after two failed attempts the glad wrap seemed to work.

Thank you to everyone for your comments and suggestions, I have managed to get another couple of days of paid work so the pressure is really on now. I will post some more photos as things start again on Friday 16th October.

It had to be my luck that I have been unable to get back to this project as early as I had hoped. I worked on Friday, managed to get a bit done on the layout on Saturday for about 4 hours, I then worked all day on Sunday. Today was my last chance to get this really close to finished and I have finally got to the point this afternoon when I feel that I have beaten it. All that is left to do now is add the finishing touches which can be done over the next couple of days after work. I need to add more trees and greenery but at this stage I am reasonably happy with what I have done. All up to get the bare layout to this stage has taken less than four days and I reckon that is not too bad. Now I can finally get to finish the engine shed that started all this.

Looking good Robyn. I really like the rock faces with the colours/tones you have chosen. The backscene sets the scene perfectly.

Thanks for all your comments, I should point out that this layout is only 6' x 3' so it isn't that much scenery. I will go back to the original thread about an engine shed when I finally get it finished. The layout is for a friend who is nearly 80 and he wants to do some model railway exhibitions. I think that the late acceptance of his layout by the show organisers left him a bit time poor as he only had the track down, points wired and his control panel finished. He seemed a bit stressed thinking about how he could get it ready for the show so then I got involved, mind you I never thought it would be an even bigger rush for me. To see the look on his face when he saw the scenery at this stage was very rewarding for me and I am sure that he will get a great deal of joy exhibiting his layout. Bill has some things to finish off over the next two days while I am at work then we will test the layout on Thursday and take it up to the exhibition venue on Friday. If I was honest, I have to admit that I wasn't sure that I would be able to get this done for him but it has all worked out OK.

I saw your profile pic sitting behind an old engine Pete and thought you might find this interesting, I filmed this in 2005 at an antique machinery show.

Thanks Robyn, a really interesting view on preservation the other side of the world, its nice to know we aren,t the only ones to spend time and love on clapped out machinery, I think your filming of the engines in close up detail is excellent to often they are filmed to show the whole engine only and a great deal of the interesting detail of the hit and miss ignition and valve working is overlooked, I can spend ages watching them work.
