from Hornby magazine May 2010 & one purchased recently.

Trevor, something I had not consider was fencing as we here in Oz have a lot of roads next to train lines without fences ,but this will be a good place to put one - the road is single vehicle only so others will have to wait.

In fact, just looking at it, I think a walking path under the bridge will be better.

The rock face on the right looks good Sol - is it "Marty's Gloop" ?

No, just sloppy plaster put on with a 10mm brush over kitchen wipes that was set with PVA then a tan acrylic paint for the base colour

Looking along the road

fencing to be painted ( why does it go OOF after I fiddled with the picture?) I will have to take it in macro next time.

Arhh, just noticed the camera was not on auto but manual !!!.

With changes to track plans, I wanted to retain the bridge in the last few posts and now have come up with this- still as a scenic break between Watchit & Mynend

While it may not be prototypical, it does what I want - a scenic break.
All Scalescenes papers

That looks brilliant Sol. :thumbs

Is the side wall part of his retaining wall kit or is it scratch built ?

I do wish you'd stop posting these photos - they make me want to get on with mine but Maxmill Junction Railway doesn't appear on SWMBO's "job list" and, having just spent a week in southern Spain, she tells me I'm now running behind schedule :twisted:

Peter, the road, etc  is scratchbuilt using just papers from Scalescenes but the angle wall by the tracks  is part of the original kit.

This is part of the basic build

Nice job Ron.........very effective solution.........and not at all unprototypical........from my rallying days I recall quite a few bridges with that sort of configuration......cross the line and turn sharp left .....immediately:shock:

That looks really good Sol and a clever way to break up a long open stretch
That last shot of the incline build in progress reminds me though…..must remember to put my shoes in for repair.  :mutley

and to finish of the scenic break with a wall from Marabost platform to the bridge
the wall location

wall in position

the tops of the pillars made up of shaped Brickwork  glued to 1/2" square card

in position together with capping for the wall sections

now to do ground cover, etc.
