Looking for UK supplier of old Hornby parts

Greetings to all members and maybe we'll all get on with some of the delayed projects in 2015. [That joke was first broadcast in 1987.]

Gentlemen and possibly ladies,
A friend has asked me to repair two Hornby Dublo 3-rail locos from way back in the mists of antiquity and, although I may have found the parts I want on line, I wonder if any of you can recommend anyone reliable in the UK who sells Hornby parts? Specifically, I need a front bogie for a Duchess and motor brushes/springs/retainers/suppressor assembly for an 0-6-2 tank.

Anyone who tells you that DCC is simple is a lying b... Er, seriously mistaken.

Hi Ian

You could try this chap, I got some buffers for a City of London from him a couple of years ago.

Thanks, Silver Fox. This is, in fact, the place I am about to buy from. While these messages were in progress, I confirmed that the parts will fit my job. The proprietor seems well organised and pleasant to deal with, so I think I can endorse your suggestion.

Great suggestion, Ed. Thanks.
I'm sorted out now but will bookmark the Coopertrains website.

Try http://www.petersspares.com/ .  There is also Ebay. Many Hornby Dublo bits appear on there.

Try 'East Kent Models'.  http://www.eastkentmodels.co.uk/

89 High Street, Whitstable CT5 1AY, United Kingdom   Phone:+44 1227 770777

Hopefully they are still operating as the last time I looked they were looking for a new owner. Very good service and they have just about everything pre 2000.

Cheers, Gary.

Thanks to 60019 and Gary. Both good suggestions.
I have now ordered my bits from mtrains.co.uk, where I received good service, so perhaps this string ought to peter out at this point. Glad I had all you guys to advise me. Thanks all.
