Shelf Layout

Are you going to be ballasting this shelf ? If so, how will you go on around the lift-out panels ?

When they are installed, they will have a strip of Sellotape between them and their supports so that when I'm doing the scenery - in particular, the ground - they won't become glued together.
The grooves where the MDF meets will be filled with flushing plaster. It's very stable but will break out easily if I need to remove the modules. I found with my big layout (which is in three modules and has quite large cracks at the joins), no one seems to notice as there is so much else going on.

Next to test fit the screwing down process.
The sharp eyed will have noticed that I had a left hand turnout left over, so I have added it in.

I'm impressed with your cabinet making skills.
Looks ready for a coat of French Polish.

Did you mis-count or mis-design to end up with the spare ?
Presumably there's no risk of distorting the panels when they're being screwed in ….

I hope you don't find you have a 'left over' hole at the other end.;-)

I made a demo module from the one turnout I was able to salvage from the previous layout. I was so impressed with it, I included it.
I'm hoping that, as I'm screwing them on to carefully measured bases, they shouldn't distort, Peter.
