Its been a long time since i posted any of these, so if you are interested……  They are all more than 70 years old so under French copyright law are in the public domain;

This one  is of a load of Fosses Septiques (septic tanks) being delivered;

one of the early railbuses (After the First world War there was a surplus of Military vehicles so it was easy to just change the wheels for flanged ones)

If you look closely at this last one you will see one of the old 'imperial' double decker carriages which was their way of coping with the extra passengers around Paris

Let me know if these are of interest. i wont be offended if they arent. I've got thousands to go!

Of course they are Mike. Just remember how enthusiastic people were the last time you posted old pictures. It's fascinating stuff.

When I saw this on "Recent Topics", I thought ah !!  great Mikey has found some more.

Brilliant stuff Mikey - just load away - I can look at as many as you've got time to upload :thumbs:thumbs:thumbs:thumbs:thumbs

Don't know about in your area but in mine,  there's been a bit of development work done on fosse-septiques since…….. is that 1914 on the frank mark ?

Also, doesn't it strike you as a bit "french" when someone sends a holiday postcard home of septic tanks :roll::roll::roll: - maybe an engineer ?????

Yes You,ve hit the nail on the head there Peter. One has to remember what a novelty it was in those days to have something buried in your garden that treated your waste (for want of a better word!)./ dont know now that i would send a postcard home!!

Are these what you are using for inspiration for your layout Mikey?
Brilliant stuff.
Have you got/are you planning to get/build one of the railbuses?

Next project Marty! The 'problem' is that they werent commercially operated until 1920 some 10 years after our period. The good thing is that 6 months of research has shown that from 1904 onwards they were being developed (engines not powerful enough for sufficient seating). I'm not a rivet counter by any means, but like any layout its got to look right!  It was after the First World war that they really took off due to the large amount of Army lorries available to be converted

Know what you mean and it's why I haven't bought any GWR Castles or Kings, the Newcastle Emlyn branch would never have seen them due to the light engineering standard of the right of way.

Doesn't mean I'm not tempted though… and I did get a Manor… and a Hall… and…. well b*gg*r it…. it is my railway :thumbs
