A narrow gauge railway between the mines, the sawmill and the explosives factory
Ready for the music
After cutting, painting and glueing 206 various shapes the rotunda in Gumnut Gully is ready to host the first concert.
The rotunda is based of a similar feature in the town of Walhalla.

How did you print the words and decorative patterns like that? It looks great!

All done in Photoshop.

The railway crossing on the way into Gumnut Gully is now 'secured' with 'Railway Crossing' signs. I have chosen the 1947 version with the boards crossing each other in right angles.
The brown sign in the lawn reads 'Welcome to Gumnut Gully'. A close up looks like this:

I like a brass band, Claus. Let me know when one is playing there.
From “Post #293,524”, 13th May 2026, 10:18 am
I have booked a band. However, it is playing this modern rock and roll. No brass, just drums and guitars.

That's OK. As long as I can get an ice cream I'll be there. :-)

Hi Pete,
Not a problem
I am glad you don't want a beer
The construction of the Star Hotel in the background commenced only yesterday.

Love the bandstand and the ramp down to it but is it strong enough to cope with all the screaming girls when the Termites are playing in town - sorry, they're beetles or, using the Liverpool spelling, Beatles ……………

Accommodation and a meal at Parker's Star Hotel seem to be weeks away. Better book into the nearby caravan park.

It looks like the hotel is about ready for business. A truck has turned up with a load of beer kegs. Hopefully it will not be long before the first guest can have a drink or two and perhaps a bed for the night.
With the roof up, only a few fittings like gutters and iron lace work at the front are missing. Passengers arriving by train should not find it hard to locate the hotel. The writing on the roof is certainly big enough.
My wife reckons the hotel needs a beer garden at the back. The production of tables and benches has commenced!

Claus

Looking good. We should all have a drink in the beer garden.

You are very welcome. However, it is very cold at the moment. Let's wait until spring or summer.
