My original plan was to go down to Spalding again Ron - I really enjoyed it last year. Unfortunately, I'm currently in Darlington and Spalding seems a long way away - I was staying near York last year. Certainly, Sunday will be a no-no as I have to be here at 4pm.
I'm hoping to get to Hull on Saturday and Newcastle on Sunday but that may yet turn out to be a pipe-dream …………………."family commitments"……………
I leave UK on Tuesday night - Hull to Zeebrugge then the long, long drive south …………………..

This time I'll be in the landrover, and looking at the forecast it might be needed to get off the grass. I'm glad I've fitted a radio and more soundproofing…
Sundays are reserved for sailing in ever decreasing circles on the Norfolk broads, though this Sunday is one long race up round an Island at Salhouse Broad and back.

I'm sure the show will be great - just wish it made sense from Darlington - at 160 miles and 3 hours each way, it's just too far.

Norfolk wherries can be 60ft long!! http://www.wherryalbion.com/
As for sailing on the broads in a small boat how about tacking 35ft of Hull with a 57ft mast in rivers of less than 100ft width.
Or for real sailing the 3 Rivers Race 150 boats of between 12ft and 40ft over 54 miles, of the course under 4 bridges in less than 24 hours. Up to 20 boats per start every 5 minutes.

http://3rrcams.horningsc.co.uk/ these are some of the rivers, note the bridge you have to get through.
and some pictures http://www.flickriver.com/groups/three_rivers_race/pool/interesting/
and finally how about our regatta, of up to 150 different boats on 1.5 mile of river ranging between optimists and 35ft broads crusiers
heres a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzaay1fRpss of a couple of years ago
or a few more years before that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzaay1fRpss like 1908.
PS I have been know to go on about model railways on Boating forums…. I often post show notices on them too..
