Highly recommended
Thanks for your good wishes. If I can't sell the retail part of the site then I will run it down gradually, so I'm still in business for the next few months it seems, but I need to take it easier. Even so, I hope I will be able to maintain the information part of the site.Just for information, geographically Canada IS part of North America and for insurance purposes that's how it is!!!!

Well we're still here - just! But I am now in the process of winding the business down so we are gradually selling out of products, most of which are now discounted. We still have a large number of diecast models but only 1 or 2 are left of most of the ranges we have. Please make the most of us while you can - we won't be around for much longer!!!
Hi John,
You mentioned in an earlier post that you would keep the information side of the business - is this still the case and does that include the information on the website which has proven a very useful reference point for those like me who need to retro fit a decoder into non DCC ready locos?

I'm actually hoping that once I have given up the commercial side of the business I'll have more time available to do some modelling (of the railway type) and add more to the information currently on the site, in particluar the installation guides.

I have had to rethink keeping rest of the site going, following changes in personal circumstances over the last couple of months, so I'm not sure what will happen to that at the moment.
I have, though, just increased discounts on a wide range of diecast models as well as Hornby, Vitrains and Heljan locos.

I'm looking to close down the commercial (Sales) part of the site at the end of November.

Very sad to see your great enterprise coming to an end John. I agree with what has been said earlier about the excellent guides on your site, especially in regard to DCC decoders. This might be a crazy suggestion, but is there any reason why they couldn't be transferred to this site? After all it is now open to all, and has an excellent indexing system.

Mmm.. just done a Google search and there wasn't a link for me to this forum, though several others. I suspect your link works, though, because you are already a member of the forum and can access threads. As far as I understand the way this forum works it isn't possible for non-registered members to access topics on here, but I may be wrong. But if I do a web search for BromsMods, I get a reference to this site??

I have discounted a number of products further, including environmental sound modules. We only have 3 x Heljan locos left and now have a £10 bus offer (1:76 scale models) for anyone interested.

I intend retaining the rest of the website, at least for the forseeable future, as nobody else has come forward offering to take on board the maintenance of information across model railway and diecast ranges. I decided to keep it going as I have received numerous requests to do so, including one from an agent of one of the manufacturers!! I also intend expanding the information on DCC both to update what is there and to put right some of the misinformation contained within some of the printed material currently available, including the latest offering from Railway Modeller!
I would also like to expand the range of DCC installation guides - I still have a number of my own locos awaiting attention but cannot possibly cover the complete and extensive range of UK models available. If anyone has their own set of instructions and accompanying photographs which they would like to contribute I would like to hear from you. I'm afraid there is no payment, though - it is already costing me to keep the website going……!!
