It was a working mill when "I were a lad" and had been in the same family since the mid 18th century. My brother and I were regular Saturday visitors helping with various non-skilled work to earn some pocket-money. When the last of the family owners died, it was converted into a public house and then into the present luxury appartments.
It was a substantial mill:
The following close-up shots show some interesting "weathering" around the various tie-bars:
The tail race. Both wheels are still in situ and the one on the right is still working. For the failry short period the mill was a pub, they generated some electricity for a few lights from the wheel. It was a strange feeling standing on heavy glass panels over the revolving wheel !!!
