It has been suggested by a mate that the main building  wall capping, fascias & gutters be painted a light grey to match to doors & break the green up a bit.  I will try it & if I don't like it, the green will strike again!

I think some weathering may be on the cards. Rust streaks in the iron panels, some darkening around the lines between each panel and some sun bleacing of the roof panels, dirtying up of the doors etc, should do it !

Cheers, Gary.

Hi Sol,

Really taking shape. The canopy is a winner. Looks very tricky and fragile to do. What is that made of ? For a minute I thought it was wood but on closer inspection, I can see little bearing plates at the top of one of the stanchions which made me think plastic.

A great build.

Cheers

the two stanchions are styrene with a card bearing plate and the beams are a mix of card  cut into  1 x2 mm strip & balsa wood all glued together with PVA.
The main canopy before it is glued in place

A couple more support posts on the platform canopy to stop it sagging Sol?
A unique building skillfully put together to fit an awkward space, quite practical in layout to suit it's role and distinctively green!
Nice work.

I had thought of posts but I think they would get in the road.

The building looks great. :thumbs

If I'm correct, the reason for not having more posts to support the roof is that the platform is curved and the roof has a straight edge… ??

Gary, platform & canopy are both curved - canopy hangs over the platform by about 4mm - overall width of the canopy is 37mm. Another post would fit under the canopy on the middle beam coming out from the main wall - post #226.

Ron,
The building looks great but I reckon it needs to be 'dirtied up' a bit.
Are you planning on doing any weathering on it?

Yes Connor, after I have installed some more stays for the long canopy as discussed last night with a couple of the D&S crew.

added some stays ( the only way they can be seen is to tip the building in its side)

That`s on the money Ron,
The stays look right for the building…..it almost looks familiar, in that I`ve seen something like it somewhere over the course of my sheltered life.???…..whatever ……it looks really good.:thumbs:thumbs
