That is the plan - pinned, glued, ballasted then cut.

all of this wiring is normally hidden by a piece of 3mm MDF




the little flat square box with white & grey wires is a 12v LED unit ( 4 LEDs)  that is on when layout power is working - so that I cannot leave the layout room & forgetting to switch off at night - bright as !!

After removing the point feeding the warehouse, the first new point in position & when I wired the motor, I got the wires the right way around first time!

The next point is down but hard for the motor to move one way & adjustment of the spring not possible with these Code 100 points.  Something to think about tonight whilst operating at Modbury Heights.

Well after a few experiments, the tension spring in the new Code 100 point is too much for one side-mounted solenoid - works with 2 OK but I have decided on mounting a  Peco PL-10E underneath - just have room exclam:

Anyway, point has now been cut with a dremel & 4 wheel & bogie stock - no problems

Will raising and lowering the 'flap' eventually put any strain on the wires?

When it's open he will have to increase the Voltage as the power will be running up hill, Pete.

No, plenty of slack as I found it was needed after I installed my first wiring in a liftup- they parted like a guitar string - "twangggg"

Ahmmm, when it is lifted, the power circuit is broken & any electricity left in those raised rails, drains back in the bucket for use next time - didn't you know that Max quest:
