Doug, you are lucky, you have someone to blame for any mess. Me, being by myself, I can only tell myself off & boy , does that happen a few times.
Doing that road is fun indeed, more to do of course once I fiunshed that bit of trackwork.

I assume your lift up is only used when you dont feel up to ducking under it or if you have visitors.

Plus you should not be blaming yourself for the mess that is what Mobo is there for:lol::lol:

Hello Ron, do you run around and around much? I thought you would be operating model railways, not conducting an exercise program in your layout room.

Actually Connor, being involved with model rail does have a lot excercise - sawing wood, brace & bit drilling holes, using screwdrivers, painting wals, track laying ( lumping steel rail), ballasting ( the shovel gets heavy by the end of the day) and running around chasing the blowflies out - just you ask your Dad. !!

In-between doing other aspects of the hobby- learning all the time, I went back to the road at Barnstable.

More plastering along the road - even though I had varnished the Scalescenes tarmac, so much water fromn cleanup, ruined the paper surface so I borrowed a grey paint & re-did the entire road - will need to have  New Roadworks  signs.

Tons more to do but now I have spread my "skills" elsewhere at Barnstable.

a platform is to be fitted in this space.

more photos later as it is built.

The platform base of 12mm MDF capped with about 5mm balsa which will not only be the platform but part of the road behind.

For a 3 car DMU

Some of the stone work added. Brickyard paper - matches the warehouse platform near the curves & overway bridge

Does Balsa Cement fix to plastic, Ron?
Your lamination just reminded me it was something I wanted to know!

Never tried balsa cement onto plastic. Balsa Wood to MDF = PVA or Balsa Glue.
Plastic to MDF( smooth face ) - Supa glue or Tarzan's Grip or similar contact glue for any face of MDF.
Quite possibly even the thin double-sided tape - I think Mr Rail uses that process.

Platform edges finished, platform surface now added using Scalescenes papers.

All paper surfaces to be sprayed again with matt varnish tomoorow.

Station building in temporary location, fencing to be added, etc but now passengers will have somewhere to get off safely instead of jumping down to the ground.
