The handrail is superb - just the right rusty colour - and it's position on the layour is spot on too. :pathead
However, I'm not too sure about the cannon ball designed to trip up the farmers if they leave without paying……………..:lol::lol:

Compared to a Monarch lorry

so I will use the Bedford - this are the laser cuts bit for the pen to hold cattle on board

now to "weld" it together!

Are the Coppercraft ones fairly easy to build ? I've seen them advertised and often thought they might make a useful addition to my (planned) layout ………..particularly the ML which is about the right era.:roll:

No seriously, the Coopercraft are easy indeed.

A wooden planked cage & some planks have been belted by cattle & not replaced correctly.
Now to paint/stain the wood & then more lorry weathering.
Possibly not ideal but it will suffice, it gives an impression & that is my main aim.

The weathering on the cattle wagon is brilliant - looks just as it ought to look having trundled around farms where they were not known for polishing their vehicles ……….:roll:
Is that a standpipe and tap in the last photo just to the right of the signpost ? If so - also brilliant !! There should be a water supply nearby to fill the trough in case the train is late (it being GWR afterall )

In UK, timber structures like that were not often (if ever) used ……….. It would all be in either steel or cast iron. There may, in some instances, have been a brick built platform depending on the layout of the tanks.
