Looking great Sol.  Are you going to fence off the "railway bit" from the road ?

HHmm, about 6ft of fence [not too coarse either] for about £7.00, not bad at all although I dislike using 'tailor-mades'..

Nice work, Ron.

In the past , trackwork & electrics was my main interest but this phase of scenery & detailing bits ,has really got me me going.

The fence really finishes off the scene. I can see you now have the scenic bug Ron, which is great as the ideas keep coming. I would not have thought of chopping a rail off the Hornby fence, but it looks much more delicate now you have done it. I look forward to more.

How did that truck get up the steps, Ron?
I expect there is a ramp out of shot.

Starting to look really good with the weeds and general debris between the tracks.

Thanks, Ron.
Yes - in more ways than one.
My "steps" were a fence.
Too much crusted port!

That's looking very, very good Sol. :thumbs

I like the weed growth and odd patches of ballast showing through.  Are you going to dribble some black / dirt between the rails just to add more to the effect ?

I will have to experiment on some old track first, Peter.

It's nice to see an operational layout getting scenery.  :thumbs

I've just dry brushed some flat black on the ballast to simulate oil, coal dust and grease, Peter.  I've dry brushed some burnt sienna next to the rail as well, to simulate rust washed down by the rain.  Worth a try, Sol.

I did some weathering of oily trackwork

Used Carr's coal weathering powder in water - doesn't really dissolve but allowed me to do this.
That will do, it gives the impression of filthy diesels dropping junk all over.  I have to do the point motor mech covers next!

Start one part of ageing a layout & where does it stopquest:
