Looks good Ron - I especially like the way you have finished off the exposed underside of the roof:thumbs

It looks the bees knees Sol. :thumbs

The handrail is superb - just the right rusty colour - and it's position on the layour is spot on too. :pathead

However, I'm not too sure about the cannon ball designed to trip up the farmers if they leave without paying……………..:lol::lol:

On May 2nd, Post #285, I displayed the cattle dock & mentioned about a truck. Well it arrived & it is the red one and in comparsion to some kit built ones like Cooper Craft Bedford ML lorry , matches one but smaller than the other .

Compared to a Monarch lorry

so I will use the Bedford - this are the laser cuts bit for the pen to hold cattle on board

now to "weld" it together!

Those trucks look good Sol.

Are the Coppercraft ones fairly easy to build ?  I've seen them advertised and often thought they might make a useful addition to my (planned) layout ………..particularly the ML which is about the right era.:roll:

Peter, the Coopercraft are easier to build than this bl….. laser cut kit, the instructions don't quite match what was supplied.
No seriously, the Coopercraft are easy indeed.

The cattle cage built - just sitting on the red lorry ( which has been Dull-coated) - the brown tray was removed.

A wooden planked cage & some planks have been belted by cattle & not replaced correctly.
Now to paint/stain the wood & then more lorry weathering.
Possibly not ideal but it will suffice, it gives an impression & that is my main aim.

Excellent Sol. :thumbs

The weathering on the cattle wagon is brilliant - looks just as it ought to look having trundled around farms where they were not  known for polishing their vehicles ……….:roll:

Is that a standpipe and tap in the last photo just to the right of the signpost ?  If so - also brilliant !!  There should be a water supply nearby to fill the trough in case the train is late (it being GWR afterall )

That is a drain pipe from the dock platform Peter but the kit does have a pipe, etc.  One of the many details to be added later - Charde is a very small part of the D &S to be sceniced.

Now back to the Farm & Fuel Supplies, below is a photo of two USA outlink tanks ( had to be two as not one has all the bits) but from this, I hope to create one nice unit.

Time will tell.

The tanks look good Sol but, for UK use, I'm not too sure about the timber access gantry.

In UK, timber structures like that were not often (if ever) used ………..  It would all be in either steel or cast iron.  There may, in some instances, have been a brick built platform depending on the layout of the tanks.
